MY FIRST ATTEMPT OF PACIFIER BALLOONS

I've been wanting to make a pacifier balloon ever since I saw one on the web. I think it's a perfect decoration for your baby's Christening or Baptism. You can use this as your table centerpiece, in exchange for those typical balloon bouquet.

Check out my first ever made balloon pacifier:

Sorry for the color combination, I just used the spare balloons from the previous party in making this sculpture.

The handle is a little bit slanted... again I apologize for that. I think I need a little more practice in making this sculpture. Maybe next time I will put here my on site photos, since I'm preparing this for the upcoming baptismal of my sister in law's baby. I'm planning to use helium for the balloon, and will use curling ribbon or perhaps tule for the string. I think that will look wonderful.

By the way the sizes of the balloons that I used in making this sculpture are:

1 pc Size 12 green balloon

4 pcs Size 5 yellow balloon

1 pc Qualatex 160 orange balloon

Note: You can also use Q260 balloon for your pacifier handle if you think think that the Q160 is a bit narrow for your taste.

NAUTICAL THEME BAPTISMAL

Okay, it was my first time to handled event such as this. It was my nephew's christening last May 2010. It took me so long to post this one. Anyway this craziness started when my youngest sister gave birth to a baby boy and she named it "SUMMER CZAR GAVIN", from then on she kept on telling me about her plan for her son's baptism. She want it extra special, not only that she actually wanted me to come up with a theme that is actually unusual for the event. I came up with NAUTICAL THEME, since this will suit to my nephew's name and it's still summer season.

It took me two months to prepare all the stuff we needed for the event, everything is DIY. Here's the details

Hello Kitty Invites ;)

Last month my sister ask me if I could help her friend to come up with a hello kitty invitation. I've searched throughout the net to look for ideas and we came up with this:

Sorry the photo didn't give justice to the item. Materials used are: pink and white paper board, gift wrapper, sticker paper and gold brad.

here's the invitation details:

Fairy Invitation

My sister ask me to help her make some cute invitation for her God Daughter as a birthday gift. She's turning 1 year old and her mom wants something extra special for her child. Check out this invitation that I made for her:

SOFIA'S SIMPLE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT HOME (MINNIE MOUSE)

The date is November 28th 2010 when our little Sofia turn 2. It was a simple celebration at home, but I still want to make the best out of it. ( i hope I did! LOL). Below are the party details.

CAKE AND CUPCAKES:

We've searched the entire net to find the right cake for our birthday celebrant, those that are ready made and available in the Philippines of course, but sadly we haven't found what we've looking for. So we've decided to make it custom made, and we're very happy with the outcome. As for the cupcake, it was my younger sister who made it. She used a ready made cupcake in the grocery store and added the pink icing, mallows and oreo cookies ;)

PARTY BANNER

Since it's a simple celebration, we decided not you use tarp at all but instead I made this minnie mouse head banner using black cartolina that I bought in National Bookstore and pink polka gift wrapper in SM Department store.

GOODIES

Using the spare takeout boxes from Stephanie's party, I came out with this party goodies. As a finishing touched I added strips of gift wrapper and sticker that I made. Inside I put assorted candies ;)

PARTY AMENITIES

Instead of party hats, we bought some pink polka minnie mouse headbands in divisoria. My sister also bought some pink plastic cups, plastic plates and a combination of pink and black spoon and fork.

Here's the photo showing the guests and the celebrant wearing their minnie mouse head band ;)

Stephanie's Barbie Birthday Bash! (7th birthday)

Last Saturday was Stephanie's 7th birthday. My cousin wants a party for her unica hija, but the problem is that she only have limited budget. She came to me asking for my help to plan the entire party. We first started with the party theme, since my niece love pink and Barbie. We decided to come up with a Barbie theme Party for her, inspired with barbie's 50th birthday celebration in Malibu, I decided to make it a vintage Barbie theme. As for the invitation. I told her that I will use cardstock instead of photo paper. I always believe that invitation make an impression on what kind of party you will have. Below is the invitation that I made for her:

It's a two piece invitation and I was able to find this hot pink gross grain ribbon in my box which I bought few years ago and but never been used and so I added it in the card. I also happen to have a spare sticker paper that I used in my previous project, and used it as sticker for the envelope.
We ask all invited guests to bring their own barbie doll to the party, this will be included in the party program.
As for the goodies (loot bag) didn't I mention that she's in a tight budget? so instead of typical plastic and paper bag which cost a little expensive including the toys and candies that you will put in it. I decided to used a take-out box and added some satin ribbon and finished it with polkadot barbie sticker that I made. Inside I put 200 grams assorted candies (it's the same candies that's being sold in SM Malls for Php 50 pesos per 50 grams) I packed the candies in a cellophane bag and sealed it with colored wire before I placed it inside the box. I download the silhouette figure of barbie and ken which I found online, and used it for my sticker.
Here's my finished product ;)

As for the DECORATION, we bought 1 pack of size 12 pink outdoor balloons in Divisoria (about 100 pcs per pack). There are two types of balloons one is for indoor and the other one is for outdoor, and since the party is going to be held at my cousins backyard, I asked them to buy the
one for outdoor. From 100 pcs balloons I was able to come up with two column balloons which I placed in the stage that we made and the remaining are hang at the center of the party area using nylon cord.
The stage background is made of black trash bag which I found in our kitchen cabinet and added some foil wrapper that is cut into small pieces for sparkling effect.
I also made some party flag using gift wrapper and colored paper (art paper). The party flag is a combination of polka dot black and white wrapper (in a smaller and bigger dot) and 2 shade of pink art paper (a darker and a lighter one).
I also hang some tissue paper pompom that I made in the food area in shades of pink and light pink. I made 3 large and 4 medium size pompoms and hang them from the window using nylon cord in various lenght. I also added a HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner (used from a previous party) and hang it underneath.

For the FOOD, it was my younger sister who cooked the entire food for the party. And since we do have serving dish, we used that and placed the food in it to make it more presentable. I used the zebra print cloth and hot pink table runner (which we used in Ysia's party last august) in the food table.
We served Ice cream cups (Dan Erics) hotdog sandwich and fries for the kids. For adults, my sister cooked some menudo, pininyahang manok and fried chicken. Egg sandwich, sapin-sapin and pancit malabon were also part of the menu.
As for the CAKE, my eldest sister bought a simple chocolate cake from Red Ribbon as gift to the celebrant. My cousin (the celebrant's mom) on the other hand bought 3 packs of choco cups (brand of ready made cupcake) as addition to the cake. My younger sister made a pink frosting for the cupcake and added some candy sprinkle. As a finishing touched I placed some cupcake topper that I made using paper board and flower beads.
Below is the photo:

For additional treat I made a doll box out of our old Television box and painted it using latex paint that we bought for 40 pesos for a small quarts. The doll box was a hit!
Here's the photo of the celebrant inside the box:

For the party program, there were 7 candles, 7 dolls and 7 lollipops. I personally bought the dolls in Divisoria for Php 10 pesos per piece ($ 0.23) I added some pink feather and put it around the shoulder of the dolls. The feather is a recycled material from Ysia's party that I used around the cupcake tower last August. Lollipops and candle are also bought in Divisoria.

There is also a dance number by some of the guests. We had games such as: Find Your Ken, Stop Dance, Bring Me and Find the Celebrant's Name Under the Table. The party will not be complete without "Breaking clay pots" (more like a pinyata) and Pabitin (Lattice of Goodies) .

Uno's Spongebob Birthday Bash!

My nephew turned 1 (one) last Sept 22, 2010 and since weekdays tumapat ang birthday nya, we decided to make it on sept 19 instead. Planning the entire party was quite tough, specially on my part. September happened to be a peak season for my business, thats why I'm havin' a hard time planning the entire party.

My sister and I wanted a spongebob theme party for Uno. We both love spongebob, love watching the series every afternoon in TV5 and Uno (the celebrant) love it too, he giggles when he hears spongebob laugh.

Below are the PARTY details:

INVITATION

We came up with a Krabby Patty invites. The invitation is made from styrofoam-which we used as buns, old news paper - as burger patties, japanese paper for our veggies and yellow paper which serve as the cheese. We place the krabby patty invites in a size 5 brown paper bag and added the krusty krab logo sticker in front.

GOODIES
Instead of typical plastic lootbag, I decided to use paper bag instead (so the guests can re-use it after the party) and added some yellow and green tissue paper. The bag with yellow tissue paper is for the girls while the one with green tissue paper is for the boys. We put 2 different toys for each bags some spongebob items and added some candies. (the photo shows just some of the items that we put in the bag)

As for the Godparents, we provided them with spongebob and patrick plush toys and put it inside the plastic pouch that I made.

TARP BANNER

I made this spongebob banner with my nephew's photo. My sister loved it, so do I! ;)

CAKE AND CUPCAKES

My sister ordered it from Goldilocks, she placed an order one week before the event. The cake comes with 30 colorful cupcakes (take note: the cupcake doesn't come in individual box) we provided the box for the cupcakes, I also added some sticker and spongebob chip board that I bought from divisoria.

Cake:

Cupcake:

DECOR

As for the decor I used light green fabric for about 10 yards in which I bought from Divisoria for Php 10.00 pesos per yard, and I cut different sizes and colors of flowers using cartolina and stick it in the fabric using double sided tape. And to complete the look of bikini bottom I made these character styro standee:

I also made this backdrop for the guests to enjoy :)

As for the balloons I made some column balloons for the stage and food area.

ENTERTAINMENT

Our eldest sister hired a spongebob mascot and bubble show that we find online (through sulit.com) as surprise gift for our nephew. Flash from the guests digicam and cp cam keep flashing when the mascot came out, the kids loved it so as their parents. The bubble show is also a hit, they dance just like jabbawockeez while making giant bubbles for the kids. My younger sister (Uno's mom) hired 2 clowns since she doesn't have any idea about the mascot, she was surprised when she saw spongebob came out during the party.

We also made several games for the party such as Karbby Walk Relay, Pin the face of spongebob, Krabby patty relay, find the name under the table and pic pac boom (for adult).
There were also pabitin, pinata and palo sebo. Special gifts were also given to those guests who came in early , guests with the same birthday as Uno, guest who sang the loudest birthday song for uno and for those who came in their best yellow attire.
I hope everyone had a great time ;)
